Overnight monitoring for intermittent and night-flow leaks. Delivered across Vancouver by Acoustic Leak Detection, a Leak.ca division.
604-239-9934Same-day response in VancouverSome leaks only appear at high system pressure overnight, or pulse intermittently in ways daytime listening misses. Acoustic noise loggers attached to hydrants and fittings record the noise level continuously, identifying the precise hours and locations of consistent leak signature. We deploy these in patrol surveys across utility networks and on large commercial estates. The output is a heat-map and time-series view of where the network is acoustically alive — a leading indicator of unaccounted-for water.
Distribution main leaks under city streets, common-line leaks in pre-1980 multi-unit risers, hidden pinhole supply leaks in concrete slabs.
Vancouver's built environment — high-rise concrete towers, wood-frame walk-ups, character single-family homes and pre-war duplexes — shapes how noise logger deployment is delivered locally. Vancouver mixes 1910s heritage homes with 60-storey concrete towers, so leak investigations vary enormously between properties. Heritage neighbourhoods like Kitsilano and Strathcona tend to show old copper and galvanized failures; downtown and Yaletown towers more often have slab penetrations and envelope failures behind window-wall systems.
