Cross-correlator surveys on metallic and plastic mains. Delivered across Vancouver by Acoustic Leak Detection, a Leak.ca division.
604-239-9934Same-day response in VancouverCross-correlation is the gold standard for locating leaks on pressurized water mains. Two synchronized sensors at known points on a line pick up the leak signature; the correlator computes the time delay between them and resolves the leak position to within a metre or two on a buried main. We operate correlators across copper, ductile iron, cast iron, PVC and HDPE mains for municipalities, utilities, industrial facilities and large commercial properties. Each survey is delivered with the raw correlation data, sensor placement, and a clear locate mark on site.
Distribution main leaks under city streets, common-line leaks in pre-1980 multi-unit risers, hidden pinhole supply leaks in concrete slabs.
Vancouver's built environment — high-rise concrete towers, wood-frame walk-ups, character single-family homes and pre-war duplexes — shapes how acoustic leak correlation is delivered locally. Vancouver mixes 1910s heritage homes with 60-storey concrete towers, so leak investigations vary enormously between properties. Heritage neighbourhoods like Kitsilano and Strathcona tend to show old copper and galvanized failures; downtown and Yaletown towers more often have slab penetrations and envelope failures behind window-wall systems.
